Linda and Don have been in the wedding business since 2010. But their romantic story began much earlier when they met in a bar in 1979, and got married 11 weeks later. Linda came from Manchester England and Don was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. Linda left home at seventeen to live in Italy where she learned the language over a period of two years, before moving to Ottawa, Canada.

After meeting one night in a bar at the beginning of June, they started dating. Don says he knew within days who he had encountered. By August that same year they were married.

In 2010 they purchased 1449 Ethel Street with no intention of hosting weddings or events. However, following three months of interior renovations the home’s original 1900’s glory emerged. The construction manager’s daughter asked if her wedding could be at the house. Linda and Don agreed and at her wedding two other couples asked if they could also have their weddings at the house. It seems the house kind of rolled into an ideal wedding venue all on it’s own. Lindon was suggested as the name—from both Linda’s and Don’s names. Thus, Lindon House was born.

As years passed other types of events requested the space. High tea parties, corporate entertainment, milestone anniversaries, birthdays, meetings, bridal showers, and celebrations of life have found Lindon House as their perfect venue.

Linda and Don have always opened their home to others so it was easy for them to move into this role of helping people with their events. They have developed a wealth of knowledge recommending services to support the events and answering questions regarding what an event would need to work well.
